THE JOINT STRATEGIC NEEDS ASSESSMENT

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a statutory requirement for each local authority area. The role of the JSNA is to provide an overview of the needs and assets of local residents and provide intelligence to Dudley Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB). This will inform the priorities and implementation of the health and wellbeing strategy, supporting the Board to fulfil its responsibility for improving the health and wellbeing of all Dudley Borough residents and reducing inequalities.

The JSNA consists of two key elements: the overview JSNA chapters and topic specific needs assessments. The overview JSNA chapters are designed as interactive dashboards and provide high level data on health outcomes and factors impacting on health across the borough. Themed needs assessments are produced based on priorities; previous needs assessments are available from the Publications page. Additional local reports can also be found on the Black Country Insight Library.
