Dudley Speech, Language and Communication Health Needs Assessment

The Dudley Speech, Language and Communication Health Needs Assessment report presents the findings of work conducted by Dudley Council in collaboration with NHS partners to understand speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in children and young people in Dudley.

The assessment aims to identify gaps in communication development and provide recommendations for improvement. It highlights that early identification and intervention, as well as increased training and support for early years settings, schools, and the home environment, are crucial to manage demand for speech and language therapy services. The ultimate goal is to support children with SLCN in achieving better outcomes throughout their lives.
